IEEE DAY 2025 – Github Workshop

As part of the IEEE Day 2025 celebrations, the IEEE Student Branch of Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi conducted an informative Hands-on GitHub Workshop to help students understand the fundamentals of version control and open-source collaboration.

The session was conducted by Mr. Kiran Tungal , Asst. Professor JCE, Belagavi , who explained how developers use Git and GitHub to manage projects efficiently. Participants learned essential commands such as cloning, committing, pushing, pulling, creating branches, and merging.

The workshop also covered collaboration techniques, pull requests, and resolving merge conflicts, helping students gain confidence in contributing to real-world repositories. It was an interactive and practical session that introduced the importance of using GitHub in team projects, hackathons, and open-source programs.
