The IEEE Student Branch of Balaji Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Narsampet, in collaboration with the IEEE SIGHT Hyderabad Section, organized IEEE Day 2025 Celebrations on 14th October 2025 in the Main Seminar Hall.
The event celebrated the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and the mission of IEEE — “Advancing Technology for Humanity.”
Inaugural Ceremony
The program commenced with the lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spread of knowledge and enlightenment, followed by a warm welcome address by Dr. V. Madhu Kumar, IEEE Student Branch Counselor, who briefed about the objectives of the IEEE Day and the outreach initiative Project AshaKiran.
A cake-cutting ceremony was held to mark IEEE Day 2025, graced by all dignitaries and student representatives.
The inaugural session featured inspiring speeches from the management and IEEE dignitaries in the following order:

Dr. A. Rajendra Prasad Reddy, Chairman, BITS, emphasized the importance of IEEE as a global platform that connects technology with social responsibility. He urged students to apply their engineering knowledge for community development.

Dr. V. S. Hariharan, Principal, BITS, highlighted the significance of IEEE Day in fostering innovation, teamwork, and leadership among students.

Prof. Y. Vijayalata, Past Chair, IEEE Hyderabad Section & Dean (Mentoring), Vardhaman College of Engineering, spoke on “IEEE Membership Benefits and Career Advancement.” She encouraged students to actively engage in IEEE activities to build strong professional and leadership skills.

Prof. Uma N. Dulhare, Chair, IEEE SIGHT Hyderabad Section & Head, CS & AI Department, MJCET, Hyderabad, addressed the gathering on “Technology for Humanity through SIGHT.” She shared insights into SIGHT projects that use technology to empower underserved communities.

Mr. Mahesh Nirati, Secretary, IEEE Computer Society Hyderabad Chapter & Engineer II, RealPage Inc., discussed “Industry Perspective and Emerging Trends in Computing.” He spoke about the significance of IEEE in connecting academia and industry.

Mr. Mohammed Azam, Secretary, IEEE Young Professionals AG, Hyderabad Section & Software Engineer, E2Open, motivated students to leverage IEEE Young Professionals platforms for continuous growth and global networking.

Mr. S. Suresh, IEEE Student Branch Advisor, expressed gratitude to the section delegates and encouraged BITS students to pursue active participation in IEEE activities.

Dr. V. Madhu Kumar, IEEE SB Counselor, concluded the inaugural ceremony with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of management, dignitaries, and volunteers.
All the dignitaries were felicitated by the Chairman and Principal for their valuable contributions to the event.
Technical Sessions (Post-Inaugural)
Following the inaugural session, four technical sessions were conducted by the IEEE Hyderabad Section delegates. These sessions enriched students’ knowledge on technical innovation, professional development, and social responsibility.
