IEEE Day – Beginner Bootcamp On PSpice 2025

On the occasion of IEEE Day 2025, the IEEE Student Branch of Silicon University, in association with TEC, PES, and Student Branch Chapters, organized a Beginner Bootcamp on PSpice on 11th October 2025. The bootcamp, conducted by Prof. Ramaprasad Panda, SMIEEE, Professor & Dean (Student Affairs), Department of EEE, aimed to introduce students to electronic circuit simulation using PSpice and OrCAD. The session bridged theoretical circuit concepts with practical simulation applications. Participants learned to install the software, navigate its interface, and perform basic operations. They were guided in creating circuit schematics, defining component parameters, and specifying circuit topology. The workshop covered DC, AC, and transient analyses of circuits such as resistive networks, RC and RLC circuits, rectifiers, amplifiers, and filters. Students gained hands-on experience simulating circuits, analyzing responses, and troubleshooting design errors. The interactive format allowed real-time doubt clarification and boosted confidence in interpreting simulation results. By the end of the bootcamp, participants could efficiently design, analyze, and verify circuit behavior through simulation. Feedback reflected high engagement, practical learning, and keen interest in future advanced PSpice and OrCAD PCB design workshops.
