IEEE Day Celebration 2025 – Wayamba University of Sri Lanka

The IEEE Student Branch of Wayamba University of Sri Lanka celebrated IEEE Day 2025 on 11th October 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the university premises.

The event aimed to raise awareness about IEEE, the Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group, and the Computer Society (CS) Chapter, while inspiring students to engage in IEEE activities and professional development opportunities.

The session was graced by our IEEE Student Branch Chairperson WUSL , Mr. Hasidu Fernando, who delivered an insightful talk highlighting the significance of IEEE membership, its benefits, and the various technical and leadership opportunities available through IEEE.

An interactive quiz competition was conducted during the session to engage participants and test their knowledge about IEEE and its initiatives. The top three winners received gifts as recognition for their outstanding performance.

In addition, the IEEEXtreme Ambassador provided an introduction to the IEEEXtreme Programming Competition, encouraging students to obtain IEEE membership and participate in the upcoming global coding challenge.

The event successfully fostered enthusiasm among undergraduates about IEEE and its diverse opportunities, marking a memorable IEEE Day celebration at Wayamba University of Sri Lanka.
