IEEE Day Celebrations and Handover Ceremony
The IEEE-VIT Student Branch conducted IEEE HANDOVER 2025 on 7 October 2025 at Vidyalankar Institute of Technology. The event marked the official transition of responsibilities from the outgoing committee to the newly appointed committee for the academic tenure 2025–26. The program was organized in alignment with the spirit of IEEE Day celebrations, recognizing the global community of engineers and technologists working together to advance technology for humanity.
During the session, the outgoing committee presented an overview of the student branch’s activities, achievements, and operational workflows from the previous tenure. Important operational resources including event reports, documentation, budget records, design files, and access credentials for official platforms were formally transferred to the incoming team to ensure continuity in operations and event management.
As part of the IEEE Day celebration activities, a symbolic drone flight demonstration was conducted where an IEEE flag was mounted on the drone and flown across the campus, representing innovation, engineering excellence, and the spirit of technological advancement within the IEEE community. The activity served as an engaging demonstration of practical engineering applications and added a celebratory highlight to the event.
Additionally, a membership drive was organized during the event to encourage students to join the IEEE community. Information about IEEE membership benefits, opportunities for technical collaboration, global networking, and professional development was shared with attendees, motivating students to actively participate in IEEE initiatives.
The event also included discussions on IEEE membership engagement, collaboration with the IEEE Bombay Section, and future plans for workshops, speaker sessions, and project-driven initiatives for the upcoming tenure. The newly appointed committee members were introduced and briefed on their respective responsibilities.
The session concluded with encouraging remarks from the faculty advisor, reinforcing the commitment of the new committee to uphold IEEE values and continue fostering technical innovation, collaboration, and professional growth among students.
