INTO TO OPEN SOURCE GITHUB

The IEEE Student Branch at Sir C.R. Reddy College of Engineering recently organized an insightful webinar titled **”Introduction to Open Source and GitHub”** aimed at equipping students with essential skills in the world of open-source software and version control. The event attracted a large number of attendees eager to enhance their technical toolkit and explore collaborative software development.

During the session, expert speakers introduced the basics of open source, explaining its importance in today’s tech-driven world and the potential it holds for students to build and contribute to impactful projects. The session covered key aspects of GitHub, including repository creation, managing projects, version control, and collaboration techniques.

Live demonstrations were provided on how to set up GitHub accounts, contribute to repositories, manage pull requests, and understand workflows within collaborative projects. Students also learned about the role of open source in improving coding skills, expanding professional networks, and building portfolios.

The interactive nature of the webinar allowed participants to ask questions and gain clarity on using GitHub effectively for both individual and group projects. The session concluded with encouragement for students to engage in open-source communities and leverage these skills for their academic and professional growth.

The **”Introduction to Open Source and GitHub”** webinar was a successful initiative by the IEEE Student Branch, empowering students to harness the power of open source and making a significant impact on their readiness for real-world software development.
