CitiPark - A new era of Parking System

As the world progresses towards technological advancements, we often forget the basic requirements that we need. The advancements in the automobile industry are growing rapidly but as the number of automobiles increases on the roads we are in necessity of efficient parking systems and so we have come up with a solution by formulating a smart parking management system where the entire process of allotment of parking space and guiding the driver is all done digitally. Each automobile is scanned and the details about the allotment space are sent to the registered owner of the vehicle. The driver is provided with a kiosk as a guide or map of the parking system.

IEEE CELEBRATION

IEEE Day is a global event that celebrates the anniversary of the first time in history when engineers worldwide and IEEE members chose to share their technical ideas in 1884.

On this amazing and special occasion,we, the IEEE ISSATSO STUDENT BRANCH and IEEE ISSATSO CHAPTERS have chosen to pull out all the stops and do our best in order to celebrate this memorable day and this was by organising IEEE info sessions followed by a series of technical workshops, tech talks, trainings and many other activities from the 15 of September to the 13 of October.

To begin with, in order to celebrate the IEEE Day the IEEE ISSATSO STUDENT BRANCH in collaboration with its students chapters of RAS, PES and CS,聽 organised a series of trainings and workshops suggested by the Fly Me to Knowledge Program OC as a way of celebrating the IEEE DAY, where we talked about IEEE ti encourage members聽 renewing their memberships, and the NON-IEEE students to join our big family.

In fact those training aims to improve the general level of students and future engineers.

Owing to this occasion, we introduced the culture of teamwork and social skills in general as well as improving the hard skills of the participants in order to shape and create the leaders of tomorrow who will climb the ladder of success and honour the IEEE community around the world.聽

The first training session was "Introduction to machine learning " . It was such a pleasure and joy seeing how motivated and enthusiastic IEEE members are .Also we were surprised by how enthralled students are with this domain . This training lasts three sessions.聽

The second training was "Introduction to deep learning " which also lasted three sessions and where we talked about IEEE day .

The third training was "c/c++ fundamentals " on the 10th of October at Preface where we were gathering IEEE members and non members and as ambassadors we took advantage of the opportunity and we encouraged the students to join the IEEE community.聽

Furthermore, we organised tech talks online. The first one was untitled "why iot?" And the second one is "how to make a success of a job offer abroad?" And through those talks we helped the participants to improve their technical skills and how to profit from them in order to find a better job and all these were under the flag of IEEE day sponsored by "fly me to knowledge program ".

Besides, we organised聽 info sessions聽 in our "higher institute of applied science and technology of Sousse " where we installed a booth in the courtyard of the institute and talked to many students about IEEE day and IEEE organization in general.聽

As we encouraged them to join our family by introducing our multiple activities through the past years and presenting the advantages of being an IEEE member.

In addition to that, and exactly on the 13th of October when we officially celebrated IEEE Day, we organised an event at our institute where we presented the IEEE organization at the lecture hall in front of 500 students, professors and the administration stuff. We talked about the chapters and affinity groups. We also encouraged the alumni to join our big family by showing them the advantages that they can benefit from and also mentioning the amazing community that they will be a part of and the exceptional people that they will meet in this beautiful organisation.聽

Last but not least, we installed a booth in the institute where students can come and inquire about anything related to IEEE day and IEEE in general. We did our utmost to explain to the new members the structure of IEEE, our chapters, our activities, our workshops, our competitions in order to motivate them to join us.

Finally, we finished this amazing day by going to the Preface, which is a coffee shop where we talked more about IEEE, its constitution, its structure and hierarchy, and then each member introduced himself in order to know each other more and to strike new relationships.聽

Hike to Strike

With moist in the air and joy in our hearts IEEE DAY celebrations at UVCE began with full spirit. Celebrations began with the cake cutting at 3:00 PM.
We were honored to have our faculty members cut the cake. The event was delightful with the presence of teachers and students from all branches.
The auspicious event gradually moved to a fun treasure hunt after the cake cutting ceremony, in which a series of clues had to be solved by the participants that directed them to different places in the college where they had to collect the required materials. Once the time limit for the treasure hunt was over, the participants had to make a shooting material in order to shoot the paper cups with the bullets collected in the course of the treasure hunt. A participant from each team shot the paper cups with the bullets collected enthusiastically. The winners were declared at the conclusion of the event based on the points scored by them for shooting the paper cups. The celebrations concluded with the distribution of T-shirts for IEEE members of the year 2021 and Impetus 21.0 volunteers and organizers.

HACKATHON 5.0

HACKATHON 5.0 was a 2- day marathon event held from 5th October to 7th October 2021 starting from 10:30 AM on the 5th and ending at 5:00 PM on the 7th. This was the last event for the 2021 IEEE WEEK.
The younger generation is filled with curiosity and enthusiasm and is always bubbling with new ideas and solutions to solve the society鈥檚 problems. So, they were naturally attracted to this year's hackathon, which let them do exactly that- come up with creative solutions to a particular problem that was given to them. This year they dealt with the problem of mental health issues, their detection, prevention and treatment. There were about 19 teams of 2-4 members each who registered for the event and submitted their creative and innovative solutions. Of those, around 8 of the best solutions were shortlisted for the final round of the event and they were tasked with presenting their ideas either through partial implementation/prototype or through a detailed explanation of their ideas using creative means. The top three solutions were chosen as winner and runner-up鈥檚.
All the participants eagerly took part in the event and worked hard to come up with good, sustainable, practical solution to the problem given. They had a good learning experience and displayed excellent sportsmanship regardless of the result they got.

Winners of HACKATHON 5.0:
FIRST PLACE: PEACE FINDERS
