Bits for Bots 1.0

  • Improvements:

  • Clearer deadlines and better organisation

  • Progress reviews

  • Maybe make it a paid event (10DT)

  • Maybe have a progress general assembly next wednesday

  • Winning team gets a guaranteed spot at the next edition

    ENSI ROBOCUP
    •  Finish the event report by the end of the week

    • Report the event in Vtools to get reimbursement

    • Get  access from the VCTA  to the uni sleepover form

    • Dinner from “California Foods” for the sleepover

    WORKSHOPS

    • Might have a workshop on saturday right after exam week, might be SolidWorks 102

    • The wednesday right after will be an intro to electronics and PCB design

    • We should suggest trainers for more workshops, and we want to have a computer vision workshop

    CSF

    • We need to find better more reliable sponsors than GIZ for NRW

    • We improve Odyssey on four fronts:

    • Same content every year

    • Bad content

    • Basic entry level workshops, for beginners

    • Bad workshop trainers

  • What we like about it:

    • Certified through CSF

    • It’s our own special RAS thing

    • GIZ basically pays for it

    • People find internships through it

    • Promotes the Embedded Competitive Programming Contest ECPC

  • What we’d like to offer:

    • Embedded C / STM

    • Raspberry Linux

    • Communication protocols

    • IOT

    • Qt / C++

    • Our treasurer Mohamed Baccouche needs help in the design and writing of the sponsorship file

    • Try to find ways to gain money by outsourced projects

    • Treasurer will be responsible for the coffee breaks in the workshops until further notice
