Quiz-A-Thon (Day-12 by BEC-IEEE Power Electronics Society)

Introduction:

The BEC-IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) organized Day 12 of the Quiz-A-Thon 2025 series on 18th October 2025. Quiz-A-Thon is a 12-day online technical quiz series conducted by various IEEE societies and affinity groups under the BEC-IEEE Student Branch. Each quiz is designed to highlight a specific IEEE society’s domain, enhancing students’ technical knowledge and promoting engagement through interactive learning.

Objectives:

  • To spread awareness about the Power Electronics Society (PELS) and its role in driving advancements in energy conversion and control.
  • To test participants’ understanding of power electronic devices, converters, and control systems.
  • To encourage exploration of emerging trends in renewable energy systems, electric vehicles, and power management technologies.
  • To motivate students to participate in IEEE society-based technical activities.
  • To promote learning through competition and collaboration.

Brief Description:

The PELS Quiz was conducted on 18th October 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM via the Unstop platform. The quiz featured a set of thought-provoking questions covering topics such as power electronics, converters, inverters, motor drives, and sustainable energy technologies. Participants actively engaged in the competition, showcasing strong analytical skills, conceptual understanding, and a keen interest in power and energy conversion systems.
