InnovateX – 2-Day UI/UX Workshop & Hackathon

Under the guidance of Branch Counsellor Dr. Mrs. Rupali Kamathe, the “InnovateX” – 2-Day UI/UX Workshop & Hackathon was successfully organized on 6th and 7th October 2025 by the IEEE PES MCOE Student Branch under Women in Engineering (WIE). The event was conducted as part of the IEEE Day celebrations and was financially sponsored by the IEEE Pune Section.

The workshop aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of UI/UX design, design thinking, and user-centered innovation while promoting creativity and collaboration. Major volunteering efforts were led by the WIE Chair and predominantly by female volunteers, emphasizing inclusivity and women’s active participation in technology.

The two-day session provided hands-on exposure to UI/UX tools, wireframing, prototyping, and design thinking, followed by a hackathon that encouraged participants to apply their learning through real-world design challenges. Exciting prizes, goodies, and IEEE-certified participation certificates were distributed, along with an IEEE Membership sponsorship opportunity for top performers.

A total of 70+ students registered for the event, with 64 active participants engaging enthusiastically across both days.

The workshop was successfully conducted by IEEE PESMCOE SB volunteers Aditi Bansude and Arya Dhaygude, whose efforts were instrumental in the event’s smooth execution.

Their support contributed significantly to the event’s success. The sessions commenced at 2:00 PM in the E&TC Seminar Hall (Room 401) and concluded as a successful initiative fostering innovation, creativity, and technical skill development among students.
