Diwali Extravaganza 3.0 X IEEE DAY 2025

The IEEE Student Branch of the Chandigarh University hosted its grand flagship celebration, “Diwali Extravaganza 3.0 x IEEE Day 2025,” under the inspiring theme and with the mission of promoting research culture, project-based learning, and the IEEE spirit while creating a vibrant fusion of technology and cultural tradition. The day commenced with the installation of the official event banner followed by a group photoshoot that captured the unity, energy, and enthusiasm of all volunteers and student members. The celebration was formally inaugurated by Bawa Sir, whose motivational address emphasized research-driven innovation, real-world problem solving, and the role of IEEE in shaping future technologists. A festive environment soon unfolded with the opening of Diwali-themed stalls, including food counters, handmade crafts, and interactive activity corners, all curated by IEEE volunteers, while vibrant rangolis symbolizing light, knowledge, and creativity enriched the cultural essence of the event. Esteemed dignitaries, including Bawa Sir and the ED DSW, conducted a stall visit and an amphitheatre visit, interacting personally with students, appreciating their ideas, and applauding the blend of cultural celebration with academic vision. One of the most impactful highlights of the event was the visit to the Kalpana Chawla Centre (KCC), where participants explored advanced laboratory facilities, ongoing research activities, and a dedicated project exhibition, showcasing automation prototypes, circuit-based systems, and student innovation models aimed at societal benefit. The academic depth of the celebration was further elevated by an insightful session by Sugandha Ma’am at KCC, where she guided students on research mindset, project development, systematic documentation, and transforming technical ideas into outcomes, motivating participants toward innovation and technical excellence. With active student participation, dignitary encouragement, cultural warmth through stalls and rangolis, and strong academic focus through the KCC visit and project exhibition, the celebration fulfilled its vision and emerged as one of the most memorable and impactful IEEE events at CUSB, truly embodying the IEEE motto, “Advancing Technology for Humanity,” while strengthening teamwork, leadership, creativity, and research enthusiasm among the students.
