E- SPORT 2025
As part of the IEEE Day 2025 Celebration, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, in association with the IEEE Student Chapter, organized a E-Sports 2025 on 14th September 2025 with the theme “Battlegrounds“. The event aimed to encourage analytical thinking, teamwork, and digital competitiveness through two popular Esports platforms — Chess and BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India). Esports have become a modern way of engaging students in activities that not only entertain but also enhance focus, logical reasoning, and coordination. “Battleground” provided a perfect blend of mental strategy and tactical gameplay, creating a thrilling environment for all participants.
The program commenced at 10:00 AM at BTP, Seminar Hall. The event began with a flag-off ceremony led by Dr. Abdul Azeez, who formally inaugurated the competition. He addressed the participants, highlighting that Esports — especially games like Chess and BGMI — encourage mental discipline, problem-solving, and quick thinking. His inspiring words motivated the participants to engage with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Chess Competition: The Chess event tested the participants’ intellectual and strategic capabilities. Multiple rounds were organized in a knockout format. Each match required players to think critically, plan moves ahead, and stay calm under pressure. Participants demonstrated excellent focus and creativity in their gameplay. The matches were intense, with players engaging in thoughtful strategies and unexpected counterplays. The top performers displayed remarkable patience and precision, earning appreciation from judges and spectators alike.
BGMI Tournament (Battlegrounds Mobile India): The BGMI tournament was the highlight of the day, attracting teams of enthusiastic IEEE gamers who competed in squads. The event was structured with preliminary and final rounds to identify the top-performing teams. Each match was filled with energy, excitement, and tactical brilliance. Teams demonstrated exceptional communication, teamwork, and real-time strategic planning. Participants balanced offense and defines while adapting to dynamic in-game conditions. The final round saw intense competition, with players showcasing quick reflexes and advanced coordination. The immersive gameplay and cheering from the audience created a true Esports atmosphere. The BGMI tournament not only entertained but also strengthened collaboration and leadership skills among students — highlighting the role of Esports in building modern technical and interpersonal abilities.
The event was meticulously coordinated by Dr. Hashinur Islam, Prof. Yousuf Madar, Prof. Nisha Anie Alexander, ensuring smooth scheduling, fair play, and technical support for both games. Student Coordinators Razak, Gagan and Maaz presence made this event to successful. The Chess matches were supervised by experienced coordinators, while the BGMI tournament was managed using digital score tracking and fair-match systems.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Professor Yousuf Madar expressing gratitude to the management, dignitaries, judges, faculty coordinators, student coordinators, and participants for their contributions to the successful conduct of the event. The Esports event was a grand success, combining intelligence and teamwork in an engaging format. The Chess and BGMI competitions provided an excellent platform for IEEE students to showcase their analytical and tactical abilities. The event not only served as a form of recreation but also strengthened essential cognitive and interpersonal skills among students.The E-Sports event was a great success and added vibrancy to the IEEE Day 2025 celebrations at HKBK College of Engineering.
