Escape the Blue Dome – A Multi-Level Puzzle Challenge
To celebrate IEEE Day 2025, the IEEE Birzeit University Student Branch organized Escape the
Blue Dome — an innovative, interactive experience developed in partnership with Escape The
Room. The event transformed the Blue Dome building into a multi-room escape challenge
combining logic, teamwork, and applied engineering thinking.
A total of 54 students participated across three main sessions, divided into nine teams of six
players. Due to high enthusiasm, two extra sessions were held after the official rounds to
accommodate additional students who wanted to join.
Each team advanced through a sequence of puzzle stations, each linked to core problem-solving
skills and practical engineering concepts:
-Coding Room: Participants analyzed a coding map and located a key with the word
Sudoku written on it.
-SDGs Station: Teams solved color-coded Sudoku puzzles. The final digits revealed the
number of the next door to open.
-Light Reflection Station: Players used flashlights to reflect light inside black boxes,
uncovering the hidden phrase Find The Key.
-Binary Room: Teams decoded the phrase Find The Light written in binary. They
converted binary to decimal and matched letters using an alphabetical table to uncover
the next clue.
-Final Stage: Following directional floor markers, teams reached the garden area, where
they searched among trees to locate the building’s hidden key — unlocking the final door
and completing their escape.
Each station required collaboration, logical reasoning, and precision, creating a dynamic learning
experience that connected abstract concepts with real-world problem-solving.
The event successfully embodied the spirit of IEEE Day 2025 — fostering innovation,
teamwork, and creativity within the student community.
