Green Roots

Introduction

On the occasion of IEEE WEEK 2025 celebration, the IEEE Student Branch of Raj Kumar Goel Institute of Technology organized a Plantation Drive on 15th October 2025. The initiative aimed at promoting sustainability, environmental awareness, and instilling a sense of responsibility among students towards ecological preservation. Such activities not only help improve the immediate environment but also serve as a reminder of the role young engineers and technocrats play in creating a greener and healthier future.

Program Objectives

The drive was organized with the following objectives:
– To celebrate IEEE WEEK through meaningful action.
– To promote awareness about climate change, biodiversity, and ecological balance.
– To foster a spirit of social responsibility and environmental consciousness among students.
– To contribute to the beautification and greenery of the college campus.
– To provide hands-on learning experience in plantation techniques and teamwork.

Program Schedule

– Opening Remarks: The event began with a brief address by IEEE Student Branch leaders, emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation.
– Plantation Activity: Around 50 saplings of native and climate-resilient species were planted across the campus with active involvement of students, faculty members, and support staff.
