IEEE Membership Development Session along with IEEE Day celebrated at Dawood University of Engineering & Technology Karachi

The IEEE membership development session & IEEE Day were celebrated at Dawood University of Engineering and Technology, Karachi, on Wednesday, 15th October 2025, from 11:00 PM to 01:00 PM, organized jointly by the IEEE Dawood University Student Branch (DSB) (STB10054), IEEE Membership Development Committee Karachi section (R00041) and IEEE Power & Energy Society Karachi Section Chapter (CH10747). The event’s theme, “Technology for Humanity: A Journey through Innovation,” aimed to reinforce the global mission of the IEEE and foster a spirit of technical collaboration within the community.

This activity was part of the project titled “From Awareness to Action: Driving IEEE Membership through Targeted Outreach and Member Experience”, funded by IEEE R10 membership development committee.

The event commenced sharply at 11:00 PM and followed the meticulously planned agenda. The event began with a warm welcome by the host. The students from different departments including Electronics, Chemical, Computer System, Architecture, Cyber Security Artificial Intelligence, Telecommunication, Petroleum & Gas and Metallurgy Engineering, presented their ideas on how they can serve humanity within their field.

Dr. Muhammad Faisal Khan (Chair IEEE MD Committee Karachi Section, Director Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC) Dawood UET and Secretary, IEEE Power and Energy Society Karachi Section Chapter), delivered a detailed talk on IEEE membership procedure and its benefits. Dr. Muhammad Ibrar ul Haque (Vice Chair, IEEE Power and Energy Society Karachi Section Chapter), also graced the occasion and share his valuable perspective.

The ceremonial Cake Cutting Ceremony took place to officially commemorate IEEE Day 2025, with all attendees invited to gather for pictures and celebration. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, delivered by Dr. Nadia Ansari (Branch Counselor, IEEE DSB), who expressed appreciation for all the contributors and attendees. She highly thanked IEEE R10 MD committee and IEEE Karachi Section MD committee for funding this event. The final closing announcement wished everyone a happy IEEE Day.
