IEEE WEEK 2025 Presents: Hands-on Workshop on Remote Career Pathways
The “Hands-on Workshop on Remote Career Pathways,” organized by the IEEE Systems Council BUBT Student Branch Chapter as part of IEEE WEEK 2025, was a comprehensive and interactive session aimed at preparing students and young professionals for the evolving landscape of remote work. With over 30 participants joining via Zoom, the workshop provided an invaluable opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge and practical skills essential for pursuing a career beyond geographical boundaries.
Led by Md Morshedul Islam Munna, a Full Stack Software Developer working remotely for Anytimestaff, Australia, the workshop focused on equipping attendees with actionable tools to navigate the competitive global job market effectively. The session emphasized hands-on resume-building techniques tailored specifically for remote job applications, helping participants learn how to highlight their skills and experiences in a manner that appeals to international employers.
In addition to resume crafting, the workshop delved into proven strategies for remote job hunting, including tips on identifying reliable job platforms, networking remotely, and leveraging social media and professional sites to increase visibility. Munna also highlighted the importance of soft skills such as communication, time management, self-discipline, and adaptability, alongside key technical skills that are highly sought after in remote roles.
The workshop encouraged active participant engagement through Q&A sessions and live exercises, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
