IEEE Week 2025 Techinar: Satellite Development in the Philippines

This event, a dedicated “Techinar” or technical webinar for IEEE Week 2025, offers a focused examination of the engineering principles behind the Philippines’ advancements in space technology. The presentation will be led by Engr. Micko Zamora, an AD ASTRA Scholar of the Philippine Space Agency and a member of the IEEE-GRSS, who will deliver a technical talk on “Satellite Development in the Philippines.” The analysis will cover the core systems engineering, design challenges, and integration processes involved in creating functional nanosatellites.

The Techinar directly embodies the IEEE Week 2025 theme, “Bridging Knowledge at the Crossroads of Power, Code, and Circuits,” by demonstrating the critical interplay between these disciplines in a high-stakes application. Through a case study of projects like the ACCESS Nanosat, the webinar will highlight how interdisciplinary engineering is actively building national capability and fostering technological innovation within the country’s space sector.
