Inauguration of IEEE Power Electronics Society Student Branch Chapter

The inauguration of the IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) Student Branch Chapter at Loyola-ICAM College of Engineering and Technology (LICET) marked a significant milestone in fostering technical excellence and innovation among students.

The ceremony began with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome address by Mr. Nithin John, Vice Chairperson, IEEE-PELS Student Branch. The event introduced the mission and vision of IEEE PELS, emphasizing its role in promoting research, collaboration, and sustainable technological development in the field of power electronics.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Jayarama Pradeep, Executive Committee Member, IEEE Women in Engineering (Madras Section), Vice Chair, IEEE Industry Applications Society (Madras Chapter), and Professor & Head, Department of EEE, St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, Chennai, graced the occasion and delivered the Inaugural Address, inspiring students to take up leadership and research roles in emerging technologies.

The newly elected office bearers were honored with badges in the Badge Presentation Ceremony, followed by the Oath-taking Ceremony administered by Dr. A. Inba Rexy, Chapter Advisor and Associate Professor, Department of EEE, LICET.

  • Treasurer: Mr. Nithin Joseph (II Year EEE)

The Chairperson, Ms. Jennifer Ruth Pauline, presented the annual action plan, including expert talks, workshops on simulation tools, innovation challenges, and research initiatives to build a technically strong student community.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Deepak Suriyanarayanan, appreciating the support of dignitaries, faculty, and volunteers, followed by a group photograph commemorating the launch of the IEEE PELS Student Branch Chapter at LICET.
