INTRODUCTION TO ARDUINO
1.Mentors:
Amine Elkadhi is the Chair of
the IEEE Robotics and
Automation Society (RAS), with
extensive experience in
robotics, embedded systems,
and Arduino-based projects.
Eya Makni is the Vice-Chair for
Membership Activities (VCMA) of RAS, skilled in microcontroller programming
and sensor integration for
innovative applications.
2.WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
The workshop began with a brief introduction to the Arduino platform, outlining its
functionality as an open-source electronics development platform.
The presenters highlighted the key components of the Arduino board, including the
microcontroller, power supply, and input/output pins.
The goal of the workshop was to familiarize participants with basic programming and
hardware connection skills using Arduino.
3.DEMONSTRATION
Amine and Eya performed a live demonstration, showing how to set up the Arduino IDE and
write a simple program to blink an LED.
They explained the structure of the Arduino code, focusing on the setup and loop functions.
A step-by-step guide was provided to assemble a basic circuit using an LED and a resistor.
A short coffee break was held from 3:15 PM to 3:30 PM,
providing participants with an opportunity to network
and discuss the workshop content informally.
4.KEY TOPICS COVERED
Introduction to Arduino Programming: Writing basic code, understanding the structure
of an Arduino sketch.
Hardware Components: Overview of essential components like resistors, LEDs, and
power supply connections.
Practical Exercises: Participants were divided into groups to practice assembling the
circuit and programming Arduino under the guidance of the mentors.
5.Q&A SESSION
Several participants asked questions regarding common issues they might encounter,
such as uploading errors and wiring problems.
Amine and Eya provided troubleshooting tips and suggestions for debugging.
CONCLUSION
THE ARDUINO WORKSHOP PROVIDED PARTICIPANTS WITH A SOLID
FOUNDATION IN ARDUINO PROGRAMMING AND BASIC CIRCUIT DESIGN.
THE HANDS-ON EXERCISES AND LIVE DEMONSTRATION BY THE
MENTORS HELPED REINFORCE KEY CONCEPTS.
