Key Skills for Career Success

The IEEE Student Branch of Jeppiaar Engineering College celebrated IEEE Day on 8th October 2024 with great enthusiasm. As part of the celebration, the IEEE SB JEC, in collaboration with the IEEE SIGHT Committee, organized an insightful webinar on Google Meet from 7 PM to 8 PM titled “Key Skills for Career Success”.

The session commenced with Ms. Jebisha, a student volunteer, extending a warm welcome to both the speaker and participants. Following this, the spotlight shifted to the keynote speaker, Ms. Kavitha, a Tech Entrepreneur, Founder of Peritia, and Area Director at Toastmasters International. She delivered an engaging and comprehensive talk that captivated the audience from the very beginning. In her presentation, Ms. Kavitha emphasized the importance of skill-building in today’s competitive world, where professional success is shaped not just by technical expertise but also by soft skills such as communication, adaptability, and leadership.

She outlined five key strategies that are essential for thriving in any career path: developing a growth mindset, networking effectively, honing problem-solving abilities, staying updated with industry trends, and continuous learning. Each strategy was explained in detail, with real-life examples and practical insights drawn from her own entrepreneurial journey. Ms. Kavitha’s session was highly informative, offering a balanced blend of theory and actionable steps that attendees could immediately apply to their own professional growth.

The interactive Q&A session at the end further enriched the experience, as Ms. Kavitha patiently addressed various questions posed by the participants, offering personalized advice and clarity on key points.

The event concluded on a high note, with Ms. Jebisha delivering a heartfelt vote of thanks to the speaker and attendees, marking the session’s grand success.
