Nasa Space Apps

The NASA Space Apps Challenge is the world’s largest annual global hackathon, bringing together coders, scientists, designers, storytellers, makers, technologists, and innovators from around the globe. This year, Yarmouk University in Irbid, Jordan, is proud to host this prestigious event on October 5-6, 2024.

Participation and Registration

Participants can register for the event through the official NASA Space Apps Challenge website. The registration process involves creating an account, choosing a local event (in this case, Yarmouk University), forming or joining a team, and selecting a challenge to work on. Teams typically consist of up to six members, and all project submissions are due by the end of the hackathon on October 6.

Challenges and Themes

The competition features a variety of challenges designed by NASA experts, covering topics such as software development, astrophysics, space exploration, and more. Participants will use NASA’s open data to create innovative solutions that address these challenges. This year’s overarching theme is “The Sun Touches Everything”, emphasizing the profound impact of the sun on various aspects of our lives and the environment. Specific themes include:
