Goal

The goal of the session “Personal Branding and Tech Essentials” was to help students understand the importance of building a strong personal brand while developing essential technical skills. The session aimed to guide participants on how to effectively present their abilities, build a professional online presence, and prepare for career opportunities in the technology industry.

Description

IEEE SB CE Kidangoor, in association with the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group, organized an online talk session titled “Personal Branding and Tech Essentials” on 18 October 2025 at 8:00 PM via Google Meet.

The session was led by Silda Sholly, Associate Analyst at Jumbotail Technologies, who shared valuable insights on the significance of personal branding for students and young professionals. She explained how creating a strong professional identity and maintaining an effective digital presence can improve career opportunities.

The speaker also highlighted the importance of developing core technical competencies and staying updated with industry-relevant skills. Participants were guided on how to showcase their abilities, build visibility within professional communities, and utilize online platforms for career growth.

The session was interactive, allowing participants to ask questions and engage in discussions related to career development, personal growth, and technological readiness. Overall, the session provided practical knowledge on balancing personal branding with technical expertise for a successful career in the tech field.

About Delegates

The session was attended by 75 participants, including 50 IEEE members and 25 non-IEEE members. The delegates mainly consisted of undergraduate students interested in improving their technical knowledge and professional presence. Participants actively engaged in the session through discussions and questions, making the event informative and interactive.
