CELEBRATION OF IEEE DAY AND Expert LECTURE IOT
Objective of Program:
On the occasion of IEEE Day, a workshop on the “Internet of Things (IoT)” was successfully conducted by the IEEE Student Branch, GGV, on October 1, 2024, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in an online mode. The event featured Prof. Dr. Rajiv Dey (Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur, C.G.) as the keynote speaker.
The workshop was organized by Siddharth Rusiya (Chairperson, IEEE Student Branch, GGV) and Mokshlata (Vice-Chairperson, IEEE Student Branch, GGV), under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Soma Das (Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur, C.G.) and Dr. Anil Kumar Soni (Counselor, IEEE Student Branch, GGV). The IEEE Student Branch team extended a warm bilingual welcome to the participants.
The event commenced with the formal inauguration, followed by an introduction of the speaker and the IEEE Student Branch members. Participants were familiarized with the impact of IEEE on society and its notable achievements. The session also included guidance on writing and submitting research papers to IEEE.
Subsequently, the session was handed over to Dr. Rajiv Dey, who delivered an insightful lecture on the Internet of Things (IoT). He began by explaining the concept of IoT as a network of interconnected devices capable of seamless data exchange and automation. Dr. Dey elaborated on its transformative potential, emphasizing how IoT is revolutionizing industries and improving everyday life. The lecture highlighted IoT’s role in enabling real-time analytics, predictive maintenance, and autonomous systems, driving operational efficiency and cost savings. Overall, the lecture provided participants with a comprehensive understanding of IoT’s applications, its impact on society, and its promise to shape a smarter and more interconnected future
