ENGINEERED FOR ANIMALS : FOOD DRIVE
To celebrate IEEE Day, the IEEE GU student branch organized “Engineered for Animals: Food Drive” at the Noida Animal Shelter. This initiative brought together IEEE members to provide essential food supplies for animals including cats, dogs, and cows. It was an opportunity to contribute to the welfare of these animals while raising awareness about responsible care for all living beings.
This event was aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
-
SDG 2: Zero Hunger – By providing food to animals, we contributed to ensuring that no living being suffers from hunger. This act of care aimed to reduce hunger and malnutrition among sheltered animals.
-
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – The food drive emphasized mindful consumption of resources. We collected food in a responsible manner, ensuring sustainability and minimizing waste while supporting the well-being of animals.
-
SDG 15: Life on Land – Protecting and preserving life on land extends to animals as well. This initiative contributed to the care and safeguarding of animals, advocating for compassion toward all living creatures and their rights to a healthy existence.
Through this event, IEEE GU demonstrated the power of engineering students working toward global goals, not only in advancing technology but also in making a meaningful impact on society. The food drive was one of many initiatives organized to celebrate IEEE Day, reinforcing our commitment to service, leadership, and achieving a more sustainable world.
