IEEE DAY celebration: Robotics Workshop
Overview:
The Robotics Workshop, organized by the IEEE Jamia Hamdard Student Branch (JHSB) on October 1, 2024, was a noteworthy event commemorating both IEEE Day and the 10th anniversary of IEEE JHSB. Designed to provide participants with essential knowledge in the fields of robotics and automation, the workshop successfully integrated theoretical concepts with practical, hands-on experiences through simulations. Mr Hardik Chadda, our distinguished guest speaker, imparted his extensive expertise and employed a pragmatic approach, rendering the session both informative and engaging. Subsequently, faculty and members of the IEEE team convened for a formal celebration, culminating in a ceremonial cake-cutting to honour the 10th anniversary of IEEE JHSB.
Event:
The workshop commenced with Mr Hardik Chadda presenting the foundational principles of electronics, which include current, voltage, and resistance—concepts critical for comprehending the operational mechanics of Arduino technology. Following this introduction, Mr. Chadda provided an overview of the Arduino board, detailing its layout, various components, and their respective functions. To enhance the learning experience, Arduino boards were distributed among participants, enabling them to examine the components as he provided explanations.
Utilizing simulation software, Mr Chadda demonstrated the processes of coding, simulating circuits, and constructing basic Arduino projects. The incorporation of real-time simulation facilitated a clearer understanding of the concepts, particularly for those new to the subject matter. Throughout the session, Mr Chadda emphasized the importance of interaction, encouraging participants to pose questions and engage actively in the learning process.
Event highlights:
– A comprehensive introduction to basic electronics presented by Hardik Sir. – An in-depth analysis of the Arduino board layout, including detailed explanations of its key components.
– A hands-on examination of Arduino boards distributed among attendees. – A practical demonstration utilizing simulation software to illustrate the functionality of the Arduino.
– An interactive question and answer session in which participants’ inquiries were addressed thoroughly.
Conclusion:
The workshop was highly successful, with Mr. Hardik providing valuable insights into both the theoretical and practical aspects of Arduino. His clear explanations and interactive teaching style equipped participants with the essential knowledge required to initiate their projects. The event concluded with a palpable sense of achievement and enthusiasm among the attendees. After the successful robotics workshop, faculty members and the IEEE team gathered to celebrate IEEE’s 10th anniversary. The event honoured a decade of promoting technology innovation, highlighted by the cutting of an anniversary cake. This milestone fostered camaraderie and enthusiasm, marking a memorable moment in IEEE’s journey.
