IEEE Day (Fundraising event)

In light of the recent hardships caused by the devastating war in Lebanon, many citizens have lost their homes, been separated from their families, and displaced from their communities. In response, the IEEE Student Branch at the University of Balamand chose to mark IEEE Day 2024 with a meaningful twist, showing strong commitment to its mission of giving back to those in need.

Despite the difficult circumstances, IEEE Day 2024 became an opportunity for an inspiring fundraising initiative, showing the community’s spirit of solidarity and compassion. In collaboration with the Balamand Civil Support Society, both monetary and in-kind donations were collected with full transparency, ensuring that every contribution reached those affected by the crisis.

Essential items, such as hygiene kits, kitchen supplies, and baby necessities, were gathered, reflecting the kindness and genrosity of university students, staff, and IEEE members.

While IEEE Day is traditionally a fun and technical celebration, this year it went beyond its usual focus and became a day of giving, transforming the celebration into a powerful symbol of hope and resilience.
