IEEE day with the theme as “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow”
The IEEE day is observed with the theme as “Leveraging Technology for a Better Tomorrow” by School of Electrical Engineering, KIIT-DU on 3rd Oct 2023.
Prof. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, SoEE told about Benefits and scope of IEEE students membership for different IEEE Students Societies Chapter. He appreciated the efforts of IEEE students volunteers and faculty members of the School to form three nos of IEEE Society Chapters i.e. IEEE Kolkata Section Industrial Electronics Society Chapter – Bhubaneswar, IEEE Kolkata Section IEEE Consumer Technology Society Chapter, Bhubaneswar and IEEE Kolkata Section Industrial Applications Society Chapter – Bhubaneswar, Kolkata Section Chapter. Further, he urged School of Electrical Engineering is always taking leading role to form IEEE KIIT Student Branch. At present there are five Student Branch Chapters at KIIT i.e. IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS), IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES), IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES), IEEE Consumer Technology Society (CTS) and IEEE Computational Intelligence Society (CIS).
Dr. Ranjeeta Patel, Chair, IEEE IAS Joint society chapter Bhubaneswar Kolkata section, Secretary, IEEE PELS Joint society chapter Bhubaneswar Kolkata section and advisor of KIIT IEEE IAS and CT SBC presented on different activities organized by different IEEE Students Societies Chapter of KIIT.

He highlighted the Significance IEEE Day Celebration and motivated the students to the member of IEEE. Prof. Subhra Debdas, Advisor, KIIT IEEE Computational Intelligence Society SBC, Prof. Tapas Roy, SoEE and Prof. Subrat Behera, SoEE, Treasurer, IEEE PELS Joint society chapter Bhubaneswar Kolkata section and staffs, IEEE volunteers, PhD Scholars and graduate students were present.
