Signal Integrity & High-Speed Design: A Practical Introduction

The talk aims to give a practical introduction to the fundamental concepts of Signal Integrity, Transmission Lines, Impedance Matching, signal losses and related concepts like s-parameters.  Highlighting a few real-life scenarios on how these first principles are used in advanced RF and High-Speed System Designs of future digital world. A special focus will be on high-speed digital channels that we deal with daily, such as fiber-to-home internet, USB 3.0, etc. The session also aims to introduce some free open-source tools that students can download and experiment to learn and appreciate the design concepts discussed.
